>Synseal’s Three Peaks Challenge
The Synseal Three Peaks 24 hour Challenge – climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours and driving 435 miles between them is set to take place on Sunday 16 June.

The team is made up from ten people from Synseal and two others with walking experience. The leader of the challenge is Synseal's Stock Control Supervisor Andy Goldsbrough; he has fifteen years of walking experience and has completed the Three Peaks Challenge before. The team has chosen the neonatal unit at King's Mill Hospital to be the chosen charity. Team member Mick Marriott has first hand experience of the chosen charity: "Both my daughters were born prematurely at Kings Mill Hospital. It's a pleasure to be able to give something back to the unit so they can help more babies like ours."

Other team members also have children born at the hospital. It's a personal charity for the team, and it will benefit the local community.

The team have just eight months to train to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. This challenge covers Day to day the team is responsible for its own fitness, but Saturday 12 November the group went out for its first sortie. After a 5am start they got to Llanberis at 8 o'clock for a full Welsh breakfast before climbing the highest mountain in Wales. Unable to park in the nearest car park, the team added an extra 40 minutes to the walk. "The four and a half hour climb was brilliant for our first attempt," says Andy Goldsbrough, Synseals Stock Control Supervisor and leader of the challenge. "We've allowed four hours to do this on the day, but we'll be dropped off at the right place, so we know we can do it in the right time. We'll be getting together at least once a month as a team before the challenge on 16 June 2007. It's a big commitment but we want to raise as much money as we can for the neonatal unit in Sutton in Ashfield."

"The commitment the team has shown to this challenge is outstanding," adds Nick Dutton, Sales and Marketing Director. "Every detail was covered in the initial proposal from training through to their chosen charity. And we're delighted to support them."
