The tie bolt removes the need for up to 60 per cent of tie bars.
The M8 bolt incorporates an internal grub screw that simply screws up through the head of the bolt and bites into the glazing bar to stop slippage. This small bolt achieves a phenomenal performance.
At our in house testing facility we hung almost 1.5 tonnes in a sheer 90 degree drop from one of the tie bolts. While alternative systems failed at just over 1 tonne.
Launched in the winter of 2004 it was the first dedicated tie bar removal system. Tie bars aren’t always the consumers’ choice. So any reduction in their use is appreciated. The improved appearance and performance make it much easier to sell to homeowners.
When it’s used in the calculated position with the stainless steel eaves beam cleat, the tie bolt enhances the structural performance of the conservatory. And because they are easier to install than tie bars, it saves fitting time too.
